ITEMS YOU CAN PUT IN AN MIXED WASTE SKIP
Generally, all those items that are not harmful or hazardous to the environment can be put in a skip. Here is a list of majority of such items, just to give you an idea.
- Wood (UNTREATED)
- MDF
- Paper/Card/Magazines/Books
- Toys (no batteries please)
- Clothing
- Carpets
- Solidified paint
- Polystyrene
- Furniture
- Domestic waste
- Food and food packaging (MUST NOT SMELL/CONTAIN LIQUIDS)
- Fittings (non-electrical)
Please try to place the following wastes together/at one end of the skip to help with our sorting and recycling:
- Cardboard
- Plastic
- Metal
- Empty tins
- Gas cookers
- Garden waste (leaves, clippings, etc.)
- Plasterboard (Must not be mixed in with other waste)
The following wastes may go in a mixed skip but if you have a fair amount it may affect pricing and it may work out cheaper to have a seperate skip:
- Bricks
- Soil
- Rubble
